Do you need to be home for junk removal?

Not always. If your items are outside, easy to access, and we have clear instructions, Talk Trash can often complete the pickup while you are away.

That means you can be at work, running errands, enjoying the mountains, or simply avoiding eye contact with the old sofa one last time. We’ll handle the hauling.

When you do not need to be home

You may not need to be present if:

• The junk is placed at the curb, driveway, garage entrance, porch, or another accessible outdoor area.

• We have clear photos or a written list of everything that needs to go.

• You approve the quote before pickup.

• We can safely access the items without entering a locked gate, home, garage, storage unit, or other secured area.

• Payment arrangements are confirmed in advance.

For outdoor pickups, send us a photo and let us know exactly what stays and what goes. Once it is loaded, it is headed out—so be sure that “keep” pile is nowhere near the “goodbye” pile.

When you should be there

We recommend being on-site when:

• Items are inside your home, attic, basement, or garage.

• The job involves an estate cleanout, rental turnover, storage unit, office, or sensitive belongings.

• You want to walk through the job and point out items to keep, donate, or remove.

• There are access instructions, special concerns, or a small-demo project that needs final approval.

For estate cleanouts especially, we work carefully and respectfully. Being there—or providing a trusted point of contact and clear directions—helps ensure the right items stay and the right items go.

How it works when you are away

1. Send photos and details of what needs to be removed.

2. We provide and confirm an upfront quote.

3. You tell us where the items are and how to access them.

4. We complete the pickup, then send confirmation that the job is done.

You do not always have to be home. But your junk does need to be ready to leave.
